Brazilian beef companies halt production to U.S. markets

Brazilian meatpacking companies have stopped production of beef products specifically targeted at the U.S. market, says Roberto Perosa, the head of exporters group Abiec, in response to President Trump’s 50% tariff on Brazilian beef imports into the U.S. 

“Plants continue to produce beef for other markets,” Perosa told journalists, adding that the “Tariffs on Brazilian products make beef exports to the U.S. unfeasible.”
