“Friday’s cattle on feed report was considered slightly bearish with higher placements than expected and slightly higher on-feed numbers, and along with newswires over the weekend reporting the first case of a human transmission of screwworm found in a Maryland man who had returned from Guatemala, the market may start out under pressure this morning,” the Hightower Report said.
“December hogs closed Friday on the highs of the week,” the Hightower Report said. “The cold storage report Friday afternoon was friendly with total pork stocks down more than 10% year-over-year, and pork production last week in the U.S. was near unchanged from the previous week.”
